๐ŸŒด Time Off

Automatically Block Time Off Based on Team Availability

Keep your team properly staffed without manually reviewing every request. Admins can now set a maximum number of employees who can take time off on the same day. Once that limit is reached, additional requests are automatically blocked, helping prevent understaffing and making it easier to manage team availability.

๐ŸŒด Time Off

Manage Time Off Requests Across Locked Pay Periods

Need to update a Time Off request that overlaps a locked pay period? You now have the flexibility to approve or reject the unlocked dates without affecting finalized payroll records. Connecteam automatically splits the request, keeping locked dates unchanged while allowing you to manage upcoming time off independently.

๐ŸŒด Time Off

Import and Manage Time Off Balances with More Flexibility

Setting up or updating employee Time Off balances just got easier. Admins can now import balances in bulk via a CSV file, making it easy to migrate balances from another system or update multiple employees at once. You can also enter a total balance or break it down into Carryover, Accrued, and Used amounts, with Connecteam automatically calculating the total. This gives you greater accuracy, transparency, and control without the manual work.

โฐ Time Clock

Automatically End Paid Breaks

No more paid breaks running longer than intended! Admins can now set an automatic action when an employee's paid break reaches its configured duration. Choose to automatically clock employees out of their shift or switch them to an unpaid break. Employees receive a notification with a quick option to clock back in, helping prevent unnecessary payroll costs and keeping timesheets accurate.

โฐ Time Clock

Set Specific Hours for Manual Breaks

Keep breaks on schedule and make sure they're taken at the right time. Admins can now define specific time windows during which employees can start a manual break, such as between 11 AM and 2 PM. Outside those hours, employees won't be able to start that break, helping maintain team coverage and keep daily operations running smoothly.

A few more improvements worth noting ๐Ÿ‘‡

โšก 16 New Automation Options added across Triggers, Conditions, and Actions

โš–๏ธ California Break Waivers can now be configured to comply with CA Labor Code Section 512

โญ Starred Messages can now be viewed together in one place

โœ๏ธ Documents

Signing Order (Multiple Signers)

You can now define exactly who needs to complete a document, assign specific fields to individual roles, and control the sequence in which signers receive access. For multi-step workflows like onboarding or approvals, documents move automatically from one person to the nextโ€”for example, an employee completes their section before a manager signs off. This creates a clear, controlled process, reduces errors, and ensures documents are only completed when every step is filled in.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Schedule

Swap Shifts

Introducing Shift Swap, an easier way for employees to request direct 1-to-1 shift exchanges with their colleagues. Once both employees agree, the swap completes automatically or is routed to an admin for approval, depending on your Schedule settings. This gives your team greater flexibility while helping keep shifts fully covered.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Schedule

Regular Working Hours: Multiple Ranges Per Day

You can now define multiple working-hour ranges within a single day under Regular Working Hours. Perfect for employees with split shifts or non-continuous schedules, this update lets admins accurately reflect real working patterns, improve schedule precision, and ensure availability settings match how your team actually works.

โฐ Time Clock

Manual Breaks - Flexible Settings

Manual break rules are no longer limited to recurring time intervals. You can now toggle between Recurring mode ("30 min every X hours") and a new Threshold mode. Threshold mode lets you set stacked break tiers based on worked shift timeโ€”for example, requiring a 30-minute break after 6 hours, and a second 30-minute break after 10 hours. This gives you total control to enforce one-off breaks or scale break requirements as shifts grow longer.

โฐ Time Clock

Auto-End Paid Breaks

Take control over unended breaks and prevent payroll leakage. Admins can now configure automatic actions for when an employee forgets to end a manual paid break once its duration is reached. You can choose to automatically clock the employee out of their shift or transition them into an unpaid break. Employees receive an instant push notification and chat alert with a one-tap action to clock back in, keeping timesheets accurate without relying on manual follow-ups.

โฐ Time Clock

Timesheet Issues on Mobile

Employees can now view clear, itemized details of timesheet issuesโ€”such as auto clock-outs or schedule conflictsโ€”directly inside their daily timesheet on mobile. Previously, users would see a red alert icon on their main feed without context on what went wrong. SURFACING specific issue explanations alongside their time entries gives employees immediate clarity so they can understand and resolve timesheet discrepancies faster.

โฐ Time Clock

Empty Working Day Issues

Admins can now surface empty expected workdays directly as Timesheet Issues, ensuring that missing punches or unreported absences are caught before payroll runs. The system identifies expected work days sequentially using assigned shifts, Regular Working Hours, or Time Clock Work Days & Hours. Turned off by default in Timesheet Issues settings, this feature gives admins full visibility when an employee has no logged hours or time off on a scheduled day, preventing costly gaps in your timesheets.

๐ŸŽ“ Onboarding

Assign Onboarding Items to Admins

When configuring an onboarding pack, you can now assign specific task responsibilities to individual admins. This helps divide onboarding duties across staff members, establishes clear ownership, and eliminates unnecessary coordination. Admins can also use the new "My items only" and "Incomplete only" toggles to filter out noise and focus strictly on the tasks that require their attention.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Chat & Communication

Quick Chats with Schedule Attributes

Broadcast messages just got smarter. Admins can now instantly create broadcast chats targeting employees based on their real-time work statusโ€”such as reaching everyone scheduled to work today or tomorrowโ€”without manually building recipient lists. This allows managers to send time-sensitive updates, address shift changes, and broadcast operational announcements to the right audience in seconds.

๐Ÿ“Š Reports & Analytics

Breaks Exceptions Report

A new Breaks Exceptions report gives admins a centralized export of all break compliance issues and premium payment calculations across the organization. Instead of reviewing timesheets individually, payroll, operations, and HR teams can export comprehensive data from a single source to reconcile break premiums, track recurring compliance trends, and prepare for audits with full transparency.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Schedule

Breaks Policy Per User

Break rules are no longer tied to the time clockโ€”they are now managed at the individual user level. You can assign personalized break policies based on an employeeโ€™s role, age, or local labor laws, and set effective dates so new policies kick in right on time. This eliminates the need to maintain multiple time clocks just to enforce different break entitlements across your team.

A few more improvements worth noting ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿ”„ Replacements Tab in the admin Requests modal now seamlessly houses both Shift Offers and Shift Swaps

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Effective Dates supported for user-level Break Policy assignments

๐ŸŽ›๏ธ My Items & Incomplete Filters added to Onboarding Pack admin views

๐Ÿ“Š Time Off Table updated to support both snapshot and time-based filtering

โš ๏ธ New Empty Working Day Issues now flag days missing scheduled hours or entries

โš–๏ธ California Break Waivers can now be configured to comply with CA Labor Code Section 512

โš™๏ธ Pay Rule & Break Policies allow admins to edit rules directly from the main Policy view

โšก Calculate Flat Pay on Clock-Out. Automate variable shift payouts like mileage reimbursements directly onto the timesheet.

๐ŸŒด Time Off

Tenure-Based Time Off Settings

Tenure-based rules now extend beyond accruals to Maximum Yearly Usage and Negative Balance settings. Admins can define different limits based on employee tenure, and the system automatically updates these rules as employees reach predefined milestones. This helps ensure time off policies stay accurate over time without requiring manual updates.

Automatic Federal and Bank Holidays

Admins can now set up Holiday policies once and have them automatically repeat every year. You can choose country-based holiday calendars, select custom full or partial days off, and seamlessly sync applied holidays across your team's Time Off, timesheets, schedules, and balances. Employees also get full visibility into upcoming holidays directly within their Time Off tab.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Schedule

Scheduling Issues on Mobile

Scheduling Issues are now available in the mobile admin app, making it easier to identify and resolve conflicts on the go. Admins can now view issue indicators while creating shifts, access scheduling issues directly from shift details, review all unresolved issues in a dedicated weekly Issues tab, and identify issues when approving claim and replacement requests. The mobile experience now brings the same visibility and control available on desktop.

โฐ Time Clock

Prevent Admins from Approving Their Own Timesheets

To strengthen approval workflows and improve payroll accuracy, admins can no longer approve or lock their own timesheets on web or mobile. Instead, timesheets must be approved by another authorized admin, helping maintain clear separation in the approval process. Company Owners retain the ability to approve their own timesheets when needed.

Geofences donโ€™t require specific jobs

You can now create site-wide Geofences without needing to tie them to specific resources. This update lets you enforce a strict clock-in boundary for an entire branch or location, while giving you full flexibility to choose whether individual jobs require dedicated fences or can be clocked in from anywhere within the site.

๐ŸŽ“ Onboarding

Manage Onboarding Pack Notifications

Onboarding pack admins can now choose exactly who receives notifications when users are assigned to a pack or finish onboarding and are pending approval. This reduces unnecessary notification noise, ensures crucial updates don't get lost, and allows admins to focus only on the users they directly manage.

โš™๏ธ Admin & Settings

Targeted Customizable Defaults

You can now decide whether customizable default rules apply to brand-new users, users currently in onboarding, or both. Previously, every default rule applied to both groups automatically- this update gives you precise control over when policies trigger, preventing unwanted assignments during onboarding.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Chat

Chat Polls

Connecteam Chat now supports polls, making it easier to gather feedback and make decisions without leaving the conversation. Create a poll directly in any chat so teammates can vote using clear, structured options instead of relying on messages, emoji reactions, or external tools. Whether youโ€™re choosing a meeting time, confirming a shift change, or gathering quick team input, polls keep conversations organized and make results easy to understand at a glance.

Convert Group Chat to Channel

Creating group conversations in Chat is now more flexible with a unified Group creation flow. Instead of choosing between separate Team Chat and Channel options, a single Group can now be created and configured as either a team chat, where everyone can participate, or a channel, where only admins can post, using a simple toggle during setup.

Group conversations can also be switched between team chat and channel modes after creation, making it easier to adapt communication as team needs change over time.

๐Ÿ“… Schedule

The Issues Tab

A new Issues tab in Schedule Settings gives admins control over which scheduling problems are flagged and displayed in the Unresolved Issues bar. Issues-previously called conflicts and available only on the Expert plan- are now available across all plans, based on each customerโ€™s enabled scheduling features. This makes it easier to spot and resolve scheduling problems before they affect the team.

Regular Working Hours Policies

Admins can now define employeesโ€™ regular working days, working hours, and total standard hours directly from the user profile or through Company Policies, allowing the same configuration to be applied to multiple employees.

These working hours are automatically reflected throughout the Schedule. Conflicts and daily health indicators highlight working-hours violations, employee unavailability is displayed when assigning or replacing shifts, and new shifts created from the user cell automatically reflect the employeeโ€™s working hours. Auto-assign also considers these settings, helping prevent employees from being scheduled outside their defined working hours.

โฐ Time Clock

Close and Lock Pay Periods

With the new Payroll Manager permission, authorized admins can close and lock a pay period once payroll has been exported. Closing a pay period locks all timesheets within it, preventing them from being reopened or edited and helping protect payroll accuracy after processing has begun. If changes are needed, Payroll Managers can reopen the pay period, make the necessary adjustments, and close it again.

Assign NFCs to Specific Resources

NFC tags can now be assigned directly to a specific resource, including a Site, Project, Location, or Client. When an NFC tag is linked to a resource, employees who clock in using that tag are automatically clocked into the associated resource, and the NFC address is automatically synced with the resource address.

This streamlines NFC setup and ongoing resource management by eliminating the need to first create a custom NFC and then manually configure its associated resource. The new flow reduces setup complexity, minimizes errors, and makes resource-based clock-ins easier to manage.

Manage Break Premiums from the Timesheet

Admins can now manage Break Premium hours directly from the timesheet with new Dismiss Premium and Reapply Premium actions. A break premium can be dismissed for a specific break violation when needed and restored later if required.

This provides greater flexibility when reviewing timesheets and handling break premium exceptions, while maintaining accurate payroll records based on company policies.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Chat

AI Translation

Now, when you receive a message in a language thatโ€™s different from your Connecteam app language, you can instantly translate it directly within the conversation, no copy-paste or switching between apps. Translations happen in place, so you can stay focused and keep the flow of the conversation going, no matter what language your teammates are using.

โฐ Time Clock

Break Waivers

Admins can now enable Break Waivers for manual breaks from Time Clock settings.

When employees miss an eligible break, they can submit a waiver instead of having the break marked as a violation. This helps keep timesheets accurate while reducing unnecessary compliance issues. The waivers are recorded and visible in the Timesheet Issues section.

Manual Flat pay

Time Clock now allows admins to manually add additional pay per day โ€” bonuses, commissions, tips, reimbursements, mileage allowance, etc. The amounts flow automatically into pay calculations, reporting, and payroll exports โ€” no manual side-calculations.

๐ŸŒด Time Off

Time Off is constantly getting better! Check out all of our new capabilities-

Manual Balance Adjustments & Grants

Make clear and accurate changes to employee time off balances. You can now add, deduct, or set a balance, include a note explaining the change, and track granted time off separately from balance corrections. This gives admins better visibility, creates a clearer audit trail, and makes it easier to answer employee questions with confidence.

Enhanced PTO Accrual Configuration

You can now manage PTO accrual periods and accrual timing independently. This gives you more control over how and when time off is granted, helps align accruals with payroll schedules, and provides greater visibility into future balance calculations.

Waiting Period for Time Off Requests

Set a waiting period before new employees can request time off. This helps ensure team members complete their initial onboarding period before taking leave, making it easier to manage schedules, staffing, and workforce planning.

Carryover Limit for PTO Balances

Set an expiration period for carried-over PTO to ensure unused balances are used within a defined timeframe. This helps you manage PTO policies more effectively, reduce the accumulation of unused time off, and maintain better visibility into employee leave balances.

Minimum/Maximum PTO Balance Limits

Set a minimum/maximum balance limit for any PTO policy to control how much time off employees can accumulate. When an employee reaches the defined limit, accruals automatically pause and resume once their balance falls below the cap. This helps you stay aligned with company policies, manage PTO liabilities, and provide greater visibility into employee balances.

โฐ Time Clock & Time Off

Scheduled Pay Date

Admins can now set a Scheduled Pay Date in Time Clock payroll settings, creating a stronger connection between payroll processing, PTO accruals, and employee balances.

The Pay Date represents the date employees are expected to be paid for a given payroll period. Adding this information creates a stronger connection between payroll timing, PTO accruals, and employee balances, enabling more accurate Time Off calculations.

In addition, by aligning Time Off calculations with payroll timing, employees and admins can see PTO balances that more closely match what's reflected on paychecksโ€”reducing confusion and eliminating the need for manual reconciliation.

Add Projected Sales and Projected Labor % to the scheduling insights, allowing dispatchers to compare planned staffing costs against expected revenue directly within the schedule view. While actual labor costs provide visibility into what already happened, projected sales and projected labor % enable forward-looking decision-making. By aligning scheduled labor with expected revenue, dispatchers can proactively optimize staffing, control costs, and ensure schedules are financially aligned before the day begins.

Mobile Admin: Bulk delete shifts

bulk delete shifts in the mobile admin schedule. Admins can long-press a shift to open the action menu, click on โ€œSelectโ€, then select multiple shifts, and delete them in a single action (available both in List View and Day View).

๐Ÿ•’ Time Clock

Clock in/out directly from the mobile feed

The Clock In button is now accessible directly from the mobile feed, making it easier and faster for users to clock in.

Color scale for daily Hours in the Timesheets Tab

Daily total worked hours in the Timesheets tab are now displayed with a color scale, based on the standard hours defined in Time Clock settings. Each hour range is represented by a different color intensity, making it easy to quickly identify when employees worked more or fewer hours than expected while reviewing timesheets. The color scale provides a quick visual overview of worked hours, helping managers:

  • Spot unusual or out-of-range work hours at a glance
  • Identify potential attendance issues more quickly
  • Review timesheets more efficiently without scanning each entry

Admin approval for clock-out from another device after NFC clock-in

A new setting is now available in Time Clock settings that allows admins to control whether admin approval is required when employees clock out from a different device after an NFC clock-in. When enabled, any clock-out performed from a device other than the NFC clock-in device (for example, mobile or desktop) will require admin approval.

Export to payroll status

Easily track payroll exports directly from the Timesheets tab. New columns (and filters) provide visibility into export status: Export Status โ€“ shows whether the timesheet was exported, Export Date & Time โ€“ shows when the export occurred, Exported By โ€“ shows which admin performed the export. These columns appear only when an automated payroll integration is enabled (formatted exports are not supported). Managing payroll exports is now clearer and more transparent, With better visibility into export status and history.

Attendance Widget directly from the mobile feed

The widget provides an instant overview of workforce status, allowing admins to quickly see Who is currently clocked in, running late, absent, etc.

๐Ÿ“‹ Forms

Group by submission date in the forms dashboard

When enabled, submissions are automatically organized into intuitive time-based groups: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, and Past Dates.

This allows admins to quickly review recent activity and easily spot missing submissions without manually scanning the entire table.

Chat notifications for form submissions

Admins can now receive real-time Chat messages in the mobile app whenever a new form is submitted, alongside existing email notifications.
Instead of push notifications, submissions are now delivered directly through Chat, including a direct link for quick access and faster follow-up on the go.

Add shifts from day & week templates (mobile)

Apply Day and Week templates in the mobile schedule, allowing multiple shifts to be added at once for a selected day or week. Day and week templates allow admins to build schedules much faster, reduce repetitive work, and provide a more complete scheduling experience on mobile.

Duplicate single shift & change actions to long press (mobile)

Weโ€™ve updated the single-shift actions menu to open on long press instead of swipe, and added the ability to duplicate a shift (available in both list and day views). This creates a more intuitive and consistent experience, reduces accidental swipes, and makes it faster for admins to create similar shifts, saving time when building schedules on mobile.

๐Ÿ•’ Time Clock

Daily totals columns in the Timesheets tab

This new overview adds daily columns for each weekday, giving full visibility across all employees without opening individual timesheets. For each employee and day, admins can see worked hours, no work recorded, timesheet issues that require action, or time off taken. This improvement gives managers real-time visibility into attendance during the workweek, making it easier to spot issues early and review the entire week at a glance instead of waiting until the pay period ends.

Auto clock out from fence for NFC clock ins

When an employee clocks in using an NFC device and then exits the geofence, they will be automatically clocked out, as long as auto clock-out from geofence is enabled in the settings, reducing time theft, preventing over-reporting of hours, and save labor costs.

Attendance filters in the mobile app

๐Ÿ“… Schedule

Assign users to Scheduling Rules policies when adding them or via the invite link

Assign scheduling rules policies at the moment users are added, whether manually or an invite link. This ensures employees are aligned with the correct scheduling rules from day one, without needing follow-up edits or manual adjustments. By applying policies upfront, teams can onboard faster, reduce setup errors, and manage schedules more accurately and efficiently.

Scheduling Rules - applies to multiple shift property conditions

Scheduling rules can now be applied based on multiple shift properties, allowing for more precise and realistic rule setups. Admins can define rules using combinations of Resources, Shift Tags, and custom shift dropdown fields to better match how different shifts actually operate. This added flexibility gives teams greater control over scheduling behavior, ensuring the right rules apply to the right shifts, without adding complexity to day-to-day management.

๐Ÿ•’ Time Clock

Today Tab โ€“ new attendance widgets

Get a clearer, real-time visibility into daily attendance through new data-driven filters in the Today tab. At a glance, you can see whoโ€™s running late, whoโ€™s currently clocked in, whoโ€™s scheduled, whoโ€™s on time off, and overall attendance for the day. In addition, two new widgets, Need to clock out and Late clock out, help prevent time theft, reduce manual checks, and control labor costs. Together, these updates make it easier to spot issues early, take action faster, and manage daily operations with confidence.

Timesheet audit log export

Export a userโ€™s timesheet audit log, providing a complete and transparent record of all timesheet changes, including edits, deletions, auto clock-outs, what was changed, and who made the change. The audit log is available directly from a specific timesheet. This gives managers clear accountability over timekeeping, helps resolve payroll questions and employee disputes with confidence, and supports compliance with accurate records.

Note: Audit tracking starts on December 31, 2025; changes made before this date are not recorded.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Comms

AI Agent - usage dashboard & custom instructions

Admins can now track how employees use the AI Agent through a new Usage tab, showing total conversations, users, and messages, with search and filtering by agent or date. In addition, Custom Instructions let admins guide how the agent responds, what to emphasize, what to avoid, and how to behave, without editing the knowledge base. When an admin changes a manager status field in a form, users will get a notification in the chat

When an admin updates a Manager Status field in a form, the relevant employee now receives a direct chat message with a link to the submission. This ensures important form updates donโ€™t get missed, keeps communication clear and immediate, and lets both managers and employees track form-related actions in one place.

Multiple conditions

Apply multiple conditions to questions and groups within forms, without duplicating fields or sections. Show content only when all or any conditions are met (AND / OR logic), even across different field types like dropdowns and number fields. This allows teams to build smarter, more dynamic forms that adapt to real scenarios, display only relevant questions, and support complex workflows with greater precision and clarity.
